Properties Comparison

Wood and engineered trims can't stand up to KOMA™ Trimboards' lasting power. In addition to the properties listed below, consider KOMA Trimboards' fire resistance. Wood typically falls below the oxygen index value of 28% that is considered self-extinguishing. PVC, the material used in KOMA Trimboards, has an oxygen value well above the self-extinguishing level.



Exposure is wood trim's worst enemy. Moisture, changing temperatures, UV light and insects attack exterior trim and cut short its useful life. But KOMA™ Trimboards are another story. New technology has created a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) material that won't swell, rot, split, delminate, cup or craze under harsh conditions. Yet it's workable as wood. You can nail, glue, drill, rout and cut KOMA Trimboards using the same tools you would use with wood.
