CellaDoor & Replacement Door

  • One-piece header runs full width. It is designed to shed water and snow without caulking.

    Gordon now makes it easy and economical to add stairs to your new or existing bulkhead. Along with the Gordon Steel Basement door, the Gordon Stair Stringers eliminate the need for expensive and complicated step construction. Made of 14 gauge galvanized steel and prepunched for easy tread installation.

    Foundation Plates

    To install doors on rough or irregular stone block or masonry foundations, use foundation plates. Foundation plates can also be used to modify openings too narrow or too wide for standard width doors.

    The chart lists only four sizes of foundation plates, but plates are available in any size by special order. (3x3, 3x4, 3x25, etc.)

    STEP ONE: measure to foundation. The CD model has sides that are attached to your existing foundation. Measure the width "C" and "D" which are the inside (C) and outside (D) dimensions of the sides. Next measure the length "A" and "B" from the building to the inside (A) and outside (B) of the basement wall. Finally measure "K" which is the distance from the top of the foundation to the top of the basement door opening.

    STEP TWO: choose the right door size. The chart below will help you select the right CellaDoor. Remember that the new door will be centered on the side and base walls of your foundation. Extensions are available for doors longer that the standard sizes shown in the first part of the chart.

    Please Note:
    A &B: Select LENGTH at least 2 inches longer than "A" and 2 inches shorter that "B"
    C&D: Select WIDTH at least 4 inches wider than "C" and 2 inches narrower than "D"
    K: Be sure the HEIGHT of the new model is greater than "K"

    STEP THREE: The following photo's show a sample installation. Complete, easy-to-follow instructions are shipped with each door. For rough or irregular foundations, foundation plates (show on the next page) are available, in different sizes, to modify openings too wide or too narrow for the standard size doors.

    Replacement Door

Simply find the measurements you need, select the right door size and follow Gordon's clear, complete instructions.     STEP ONE: measure the foundation. The RD model fits over your existing foundation, centered on the foundation walls. Measure the width "C" and "D" which are the inside (C) and outside (D) dimensions of the sides. Next, measure the length "A" and "B" along the slope from the building, to the inside (A) and outside (B) of the basewall. (Note: To insure the accuracy, measure the foundation and not the existing door.)

    STEP TWO: choose the right door size. The chart below will help you select the correct replacement door. Remember that the new door will be centered on the sidewalls of your foundation. Extension "headers" are available for doors longer than the standard sizes shown in the first section of the chart.
